This week on the show Matt was in the studio reviewing American Ultra, and we discussed how well the genre mash up works in this particular film.
We heard a New Writing Night piece called Age Uk, written by Kat Roberts that was first heard at Blakshaw’s last New Writing Night back in July.
Next up was Vikki with this week’s Arts Thing Of The Week. She discussed all the theatre that is coming up this Autumn in London and in the studio we talked about what we are going to be seeing and reviewing for you on the coming weeks of The Blackshaw Arts Hour.
Helen joined us in the studio and reviewed the Greek tragedy, Bakkai playing at the Almeida theatre in Islington.
We also exclusively announced the Blackhaw’s upcoming Scare Slam! Taking place at the Horse and Stables on Wednesday the 25th of November all the info can be found here! Come along if you want to hear an evening of terrifying tales, which will then be played later on in the year as a full length show right here on The Blackshaw Arts Hour.
Coming towards the end of the show we heard a piece of new writing entitled The Open Road, written and performed by Perry Sophocleous, another piece that was on the stage for the first time at our New Writing Night back in July.
Enjoy the show and don’t forget to get your tickets for Staying Alive here!
